Bourbon Glaze

The bourbon in this glaze accentuates the combinations of sautéed onions, beef broth and vinegar. Cooked down with brown sugar and Tabasco sauce, it’s syrupy with a subtle hint of sweetness and bite.

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 onion, chopped

2 cups brown sugar

½ cup beef broth

½ cup soy sauce

½ cup red wine vinegar

2 tablespoons bourbon

1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce


1Heat olive oil in a saucepot. Sauté garlic and onions over medium heat for five minutes, until tender.

2Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Continue boiling for 20 minutes.

3Serve alongside beef, pork or chicken.
