Change up your traditional baked beans by adding Pendleton Hot + Spicy BBQ Sauce. It adds the unique sweet + sour tang of tamarind with a kick of heat.

  • Prep: 15 mins
  • Cook: 1 hr 15 mins

5 thick slices bacon, cubed

3/4 cup white onion, chopped

1/3 cup bell pepper, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons jalapeno, chopped

2 cans navy beans

3/4 cup Pendleton Hot + Spicy BBQ Sauce

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1Heat grill (or stove top) to medium.

2Place large cast iron pot over direct heat. Cook the bacon until the edges start to turn crispy and brown, about 8 minutes.

3Add onion, bell pepper, garlic and jalapeno. Sauté until tender, about 5 minutes.

4Add the navy beans, BBQ sauce, syrup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Reduce heat to low. Continue cooking until sauce thickens, about 1 hour.

To reduce the spicy heat, omit the jalapenos and/or add more brown sugar.
