Unlike the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill, the Ninja FlexFlame didn’t come with an air fry setting. But because it uses that cyclonic fan technology, you can still use it as an air fryer.
So why would you?
Well, imagine all the neighborhood kids or your husband’s poker buddies just decided to descend on your house without notice.
An easy way to feed them is by popping a few frozen foods into the air fryer. However, most air fryers don’t hold very much, so you’ll end up in the kitchen for over an hour heating up food.
With the Ninja FlexFlame, you can fill the grill with a ton of food, so you can feed the surprise party crowd in less than 30 minutes.

Ingredients
- Frozen Foods: You can use pretty much any frozen food that shows air fryer directions on the packaging. I’ve tested this with chicken tenders, egg rolls, mozzarella sticks, french fries and potato skins.
See the full recipe card above for servings and a full list of ingredients.
How to air fry on the Ninja FlexFlame
The key to getting this just right is to check the instructions on the food’s packaging. Look to see what temperature it recommends for air frying.
Then, set your Ninja FlexFlame to the roast/bake setting and set the temperature to whatever the packaging says.
PRO TIP: If you're cooking several different foods at once and they cook at different temperatures, just go with an average temp. Usually 360F is just right.
- STEP ONE: Place the frozen food in an air fryer basket in a single layer.
These are the two baskets I use. They’re made for the Ninja Woodfire Grill but work great on the FlexFlame.
- STEP TWO: Place the baskets on the preheated grill. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165F degrees, about 10-12 minutes.
How to create a platter of air fried foods
Transfer all of the food to a large platter or cutting board. Fill small bowls with different dipping sauces like marinara sauce, sweet and sour sauce, BBQ sauce and ranch dressing.
Air Fried Chicken Tenders
Air fry at 350F degrees for about 10 minutes. Serve with ranch and BBQ sauce.
Air Fried Mozzarella Sticks
Cook at 360F degrees for about 6-8 minutes. Serve with marinara sauce.
Air Fried Potato Skins
Cook at 360F degrees for about 10 minutes. Top with sour cream, green onions and diced tomatoes for an added touch.
Air Fried Egg Rolls or Lumpia
Cook at 375F degrees for 10-12 minutes. These won’t turn golden brown, but they should still be crispy. Serve with sweet and sour sauce.
