HOW TO BAKE QUICHE ON A GRILL

+ 5 FILLING IDEAS

1 stick Crisco shortening 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour ½ tsp. salt 5-7 tablespoons cold water Mix the shortening, flour and salt with a pastry blender. Add water one tablespoon at a time until the dough is smooth and doesn’t crack when flattened.

START WITH REFRIGERATED PIE CRUST OR MAKE YOUR OWN

To create an indirect zone, turn 1-2 burners on and leave 1 burner off.  Then cook your food over the section of the grill where the burner is off.

HEAT YOUR GRILL TO 350F WITH AN INDIRECT ZONE

THE CUSTARD

4 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup heavy cream 1 tsp herbs

THE FILLINGS

There are so many varieties, the possibilities are endless. Visit my site for 5 different recipes, including smoked salmon, breakfast sausage and BBQ chicken.

THE FINISHING TOUCHES

Top the filling and custard with some small cubes of butter and a salty seasoning like everything bagel blend.

GRILL YOUR QUICHE

Place your quiche on your preheated grill over indirect heat and cook for 45 minutes, or until the eggs are set.

ADD FRESHNESS

Top with some chopped fresh herbs, a pinch of salt and some coarsely ground black pepper.

SERVE & ENJOY

Pour the mimosas and coffee and gather your friends around. Brunch is ready.

MAKE 'EM MINI

You can make these quiches bite-sized, too, using mini muffin pans. You'll just need 1 more pie crust and a couple adjustments to cooking time and temp.
