Ingredients

Maui Wowee BBQ Sauce

Garnish and Side

  • 2 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 3 cups cooked white rice

Instructions

  • Heat Smoker: Set up your smoker to 250F degrees with an indirect heat zone, using fruit wood like apple, cherry or peach.
  • Season: Rub each rack of ribs on both sides with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Maui Wowee and 1 tablespoon Pork Rub.
  • Smoke: Place the ribs on the smoker over indirect heat and smoke at 250F degrees for 3 1/2 hours.
  • Make the Sauce: While the ribs are smoking, combine all of the sauce ingredients in a saucepot. Cook over medium-low heat, until all of the sugar is dissolved, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Sauce Ribs: After the ribs have been smoking for 3 1/2 hours, brush them with the sauce. Keep smoking them for 30 more minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 205F degrees.
  • Final Touches: Remove the ribs from the grill. Let them rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds and serve with rice.
