Classic Grilled Hot Dogs

How to grill up the perfect classic American hot dog.

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cup pickle relish
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  • Heat Grill: Heat your grill to high heat with a direct heat zone.
  • Wrap Buns: Wrap the buns in aluminum foil.
  • Grill: Place the hot dogs on the grill over direct heat. Cook for about 5-8 minutes, turning occasionally for even cooking.
  • Warm Buns: During the last couple minutes, place the foil-wrapped buns on the grill over indirect heat to heat them up. The warming rack is perfect.
  • Assemble: Place a grilled hot dog into a bun and top with your favorite condiments.

Notes

These are just some basic condiment suggestions. The great thing about hot dogs is that you can top them with anything you want.
