What is the best way to cook pork chops without drying them out?

The best way to avoid dry pork chops is to cook them to the proper internal temperature. The USDA recommends cooking pork chops to a temperture of 145F degrees.

Another tip to guarantee juicy chops is to let them rest for about five minutes after you cook them before you slice into them. This allows the juices to settle back into the meat.

This recipe results in juicy chops, but if you’re looking for something with even more moisture, try my pork marinade.

Ingredients

  • Bone-in Pork Chops: Look for chops that are about one-inch thick. If they’re thinner, reduce the cook time a bit. If they’re thicker, increase the cook time.
  • Olive Oil
  • Seasonings: Use your favorite pork rub or a combination of kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder and smoked paprika. You can sprinkle the spices on individually or mix them together in a small bowl.
SUBSTITUTIONS: You can make this easy grilled recipe with boneless pork chops, too.

I always set the timer to more minutes than is required for the recipe so the grill doesn’t shut down in the middle of the cook.
